I've been feeling a little lazy the last month or so. I spent some time writing and I participated in the May MiniMakers challenge on Instagram. It's fun but it's also difficult for me because Instagram is not something I feel 'good' at dealing with.
But I did accomplish a few things and I got some mini treasure that I want to share as well.
I've been working on my shipping container doors and I've gotten them hinged and attached and they're looking pretty good so far. I'm tempted to change the sliding inner doors to accordion doors but we'll see.
So far so good.
I tend to struggle with plexiglass and making even breaks so I thought I'd use my Cricut to cut out my panes for the accordion doors I wanted to do on the back wall of the first floor. More of my attempts to keep the Building Inspector out of my dollhouse.
I'd figured out the measurements I needed last week and how I would make them fold and slide.
I managed to salvage the plastic though. And I got my wall supports measured and glued together. I had to make a couple adjustments but finally got everything figured out.
I wanted two sets of doors, one for the kitchen and one for the living room portion of the lower level.
Maybe it's the start of the summer season for feeling lazy, Sheila?? I have the same feeling to deal with, maybe it's also because of your hayfever?? (me too) ;O).
ReplyDeleteSliding doors take in a lot of space, so your suggestion for accordion doors would be a fantastic solution. These outer doors look amazing to me, great work.
Possesing a Cricut machine seems to me a wonderful possibility in making great minis, as I see on your blog, and Jodi's. But it will take a lot of time to figure out how to work with it, but also knowledge of how to do things, if I don't be mistaken? However, the accordion door looks fine to me, they even can fold in, wow!!
The shoes, purse, bags and other accesories, made by Patrizia, are always stunning treasures, enjoy!!
The pillows are minis which will always fit in our projects, these are wonderful ones too, so good purchase ;O).
Enjoy your vacation, dear Sheila, it will do you good, enjoy of your time off.
Hugs, Ilona
I love the accordion doors, Sheila. Great job and they look perfect. What wonderful purchases. The shoes and bags are gorgeous. Since my retirement years ago, I hardly ever buy new shoes in real life. Maybe I should turn my attention to mini shoes just to feed my former habit! - Marilyn D.
ReplyDeleteHi sheila! I Love the way the container doors are looking! I have no luck with plexiglass.... I haven't tried in a long while, but it is not easy for sure! Patrizia's minis are the most amazing mine shoes and accessories Ever! I got some of her sandals at a mini Guild Show a few years ago. The perfection is too much!!! As for Brae's pillows... with kitties on them.... who could resist! I look forward to seeing where they end up! :):)
ReplyDeleteI love the folding doors. You did a fantastic job on them!
ReplyDeletePatrizia's shoes and accessories are stunning. Great purchases!
Hugs, Drora
That’s great progress Sheila, despite problems cutting the plastic. Those folding doors look awesome! And I understand you on the Instagram front. I find it a bit overwhelming and takes up a lot of time. Not to mention the ads they put on there…
ReplyDeleteThe doors are great, wow, I´m impress, such an amazing job. I love your purchases as well, you added great minis to your collection, well done girl.
