Finishing Up

This weekend, despite my best intentions, I didn't get a lot really organized or cleaned.  Instead I decided to finish up a project that I've had on the backburner for a while.

I have to be in a certain mood to make furniture (meaning from scratch not a kit) and until lately I haven't been.

But I managed to make a chair, a bed, a table and lamp.

I had a hard time deciding on how to place the bed.  Ultimately I glued it down but in a position that I forgot to take a picture of.

But it still looks festive.  So I'm pretty happy with it.

I also broke out the spray on adhesive and my fine 'snow' glitter and added it to the outside.  This was the other thing I'd been meaning to do for a while.

It is much more sparkly in person I promise.

I'll try to get some better pictures soon.  But that's it for my accomplishments this weekend.

Hope you're all staying safe and healthy and having a good week so far.

  1. Hi Sheila. Your cottage looks good! And well done on making the furniture. I fully underatand how you need to be in the right mood for these things. I would say that is good progress for a weekend. X

  2. Your Christmas themed cottage looks so wonderful and snug already, as well on the in and outside.
I fully agree with you that the beautiful glittering snow is almost invisible through the lens of a camera. I have also tried to photograph it many times, but I got the same result as you, Sheila, so I know that it does indeed show a lot more sparkling in reality ;) .
Stay safe, take care, dear Sheila!

  3. You did quite a lot, and all looks fabulous. My favorite is the little table.

  4. Hi Sheila! This is another really cute project! I can imagine a tiny bird family living in this house! The lights you used are very festive... and I can see the glitter! I never know the best way to "attach" the glitter... I tend to not like sprays.... (I don't like the air filled with things like glue!) So I end up globbing on glue and making a real mess! I think the shutters on the "doors" are a sweet touch! Of course, the old fashioned "hi-fi" is priceless!!! :)
