I'm really excited to announce that the Craftsman Tiny House has received Honorable Mention in the 2017 Creatin' Contest!
I'm sure you all recall what it looks like. But here are a few pictures.

I don't know if any of the other winners have blogs but if they do please send me links!
Congratulations everybody! Now I'm going to go and drool over all the pictures on the HBS site.
Congratulations! You did a beautiful job building that house.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm excited and yet disappointed I didn't do better.
DeleteOh very well done! Congratulations! That is great news!
ReplyDeletethanks! I'm hoping to do better in 2018
DeleteVery well done, Sheila! For the life of me, in all the years I've been participating in and watching this contest, I have never been able to discern why or how the judges vote as they do. So for me there is no "do better". It's only do what you love, listen to what calls to you, make *your* vision real. And share it! We all benefit :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm competitive in some ways so I always want to improve. I've been watching the contests for about five years now and can't figure out the judging either. Part of me wonders if its worth the stress of entering.
DeleteWell deserved recognition! I actually showed your house to a lot of friends and family to describe how the contest means the same kit gets such different design makeovers. I always got "it looks sooo real!!" "how did she even do that?!" You were such stiff competition!!! Those exterior shots of the house get me every single time. I honestly have no idea how the judges decide. It would be kind of neat to know some of their judging criteria. Anyways, big hugs for you! And I cannot wait to see you crush this years kit! I think your design and story are going to be big winners again :D
ReplyDeleteOh Thank you! I'm really hoping to do even better this coming year. I'm actually excited about the idea rather than 'I think this will work and I like it'.
DeleteKeli and I both are waiting for the 1st time entry winner because if its not you we might both start ranting.
It's got to be Kristine! Said so from the first time I saw her build done.
DeleteIt absolutely has to be. I still go back and look at the pictures and just drool. I also want to live there.
DeleteIt has to be Kristine indeed!
DeleteIf its not... well. Harsh language will be used.
DeleteCongrats Sheila!! I saw the results in Twitter and did a squeal when I saw yours.
ReplyDeleteThe mention is well deserved (well, more then a mention frankly, your build is beautiful).
Thank you! I learn bunches from all of you so I can't thank everyone who follows and comments enough.
DeleteCongratulations Sheila! A well deserved mention. No idea how the judging works either.. It's so hit and miss, but I'm glad you at least got an acknowledgement. I hope there is a prize for all your wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I appreciate it. I got a $50 gift certificate which will come in handy when I need supplies for the new kit.
DeleteCongratulations! You did a wonderful job! Your entry was really awesome and it's great to see it on the website :-).
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm pleased it did well.
DeleteHi Sheila, CONGRATULATIONS! I saw this in the emails just a few minutes ago and was very pleased for you. What a great feeling!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm pleased but I'm also hoping to do better this year.
ReplyDeleteWell deserved :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I appreciate it.
DeleteCongratulations for this well deserved Honorable Mention. Your house is stunning.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the other contestants' photos.
Hugs, Drora
Thank you!
DeleteI'll admit it took me a bit of time to figure out how to add the pictures but I figured it was worth it so everyone could see them.
GREAT WORK Sheila and I KNOW you must be Very Pleased considering all of the time, work and effort you devoted to your Craftsman Cottage; my Congratulations!!! :D
ReplyDeletethank you! And Oh yes. Really excited and hoping I can do better in 2018
DeleteCongratulations Sheila! I have enjoyed watching you build this house and you deserved to get recognized! Well done!!! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't wait to get started on the next one.
DeleteCongratulations Sheila! That is two years in a row that you have placed, and considering they only award like 18 spots or something out of 150 entrants or something, you rock! I thinks you're going to clean up in this years contest! Your ideas are amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm pretty happy to have placed but I really wanted to do better. So hopefully 2018 will be a level up.
DeleteCongratulations Sheila, it is well deserved recognition for such a beautiful building. I really enjoyed seeing the Craftsman Cottage take shape as your ideas evolved. Well done to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm really pleased.
DeleteCongratulations!!! Thank you for sharing the pictures of the other winners!!!
ReplyDeleteGeneviève

DeleteCongratulations Sheila on you very well deserved honorable mention!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteCongratulations Sheila!
ReplyDeleteDo you know when they pronounce the winner and all competitors?
I always like to look of all the things they can make with the kit you have in the competition.
Britt
Thank you! I don't know the timing exactly but I think its once a week the announcements are made.
DeleteThank you so much
DeleteCongratulations Sheila, this is well deserved and I can only confirm Jodi's comment, you rock! Seeing all the effort you had put in the smallest details of the house I knew you were going to be in the very top few! The exterior of the house is just stunning and the pictures were so well done. Hugs and fingers crossed for 2018!
ReplyDeleteThanks you! I'm really excited about the new project, a bit more than I was about this one to be honest.
