A Quick Peek

Hey everyone!

Since it's been established that my sausage will not be arriving in time I decided to hang up the drying rack and took a few pictures of the cottage.

Picture taking for the contest and my customary post of lots of pics with links to my sources will probably be on Sunday.  In the meantime I hope everyone is having a lovely December!

    1. Thanks Elizabeth! Considering how detailed and character filled your projects are I'll take that as a huge compliment.

  2. I don't think anyone will miss the sausage. This is just an exquisitely done and wonderfully detailed build. Every little element fits so perfectly, and adds to the overall realism of the rooms. It truly feels like the little inhabitants have just left for a moment. . . .

    1. Thank you! I love to hear that because that's the impression I want to give, that my resident has just walked away for a second.

  3. Great pictures! I think the omission of the sausages takes nothing away from the room. It's so wonderfully detailed already. Anna's coat is so spectacular you have to include it in one of your competition shots. If you go a little wider on shot number 2 above you'll have it right there in the background of your wonderful kitchen scene. That's a winning shot right there! Such a shame you only get four shots for the competition. Lucky for us, we get to view every detail right here! :D

    1. Thank you Sam! Definitely going to have the cloak in one of the shots. I'm thinking I'm going to have my work cut out for me. But I'm excited to be done.

  4. Oh, what a sausage shame!! Still I really don't think it matters it is such a spectacularly detailed room - a feast for the eye and a credit to all your hard work, Sheila. I guess it is one of those things that because you know what they will look like and know they are missing, only you see the empty space. Honestly, I have no idea where you intend to cram them in ;-)
I had no idea you can only submit 4 pictures - only 4!! Good luck with that. I am just grateful that my mini-meandering landed me here and I have the luxury of the full camera roll.
    Best of luck. Anna X

    1. Thanks Anna! I was thinking from the ceiling of the bay window near the sink. So any drips could be easily cleaned up. But there's enough going on that I don't think they'll be missed.

I'm going to have a difficult time with the pictures I can tell. But I'll live.

  5. Best of luck as you photograph this weekend! I wish you lots and lots of good sunlight! Also since you have a lot of interior shots, you might want to try reflecting some light off of tin foil? (Not crinkled, that might make a water effect!) I think I've mentioned this to you before, but reflecting light into my scenes has really helped light up those dark corners.
I cannot wait for the final post! How on earth did you do this in one year?! So much hard work WOW

    1. Thank you Kristine. I think the difficult part is going to be put the sheet up to hang from the ceiling. I bought two clamp lights to go with the one I had photobombing a few weeks ago. And I got some of the screens you recommended.

As for how I did it in one year...it's... sort of because I have no life?

    Good luck!!!
