2020 Creatin' Contest Kit

Well, it's more of a sneak peak really.  The Corner Place Kit.

It's a bit of an oddity, not an actual structure.  It looks like the outside of a structure to me.  A front porch?

The measurements are: 14 1/16"W x 14 3/8"H x 12 1/8"D

So it doesn't have a huge footprint.  I like that.  Not sure what I want to do with it yet.  The back porch of an old rambling farmhouse? Complete with greenery and dogs sprawled under the porch in the shade?

If I enclosed it I could finally do the music room roombox I've been wanting.

Have to think about it some more.  Any of you got ideas hitting you like lightning?  Those are the best kind aren't they?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  1. Funny enough, I had an idea before I saw the kit, and the kit is perfect for it. :D

  2. It already looks like a porch. A music room-box appeals to me.

  3. I saw this a few days ago when it popped up on the site and immediately thought of your annual blog post revealing the kit. It's just such an oddity... while I can't wait to see what people do with it I'm also not won over by it. Is it just me or does it seem a bit pricey for a "kit"? Also that second level looks pretty high to be a porch? I guess we'll wait to see when some one finally receives it in person!

    1. You're not wrong. For something that doesn't even have four walls and a roof it feels like a lot of money.

I have seen porches like that before, where the cellar/basement is half above half below ground. My cousins grew up in a house like that.

  4. I immediately saw the Three's Company set! That would be a really fun one to do with it's Spanish arched wooden door and iron railed stairway!

  5. For some reason, backstage at a theatre popped into my mind, although that would be a pretty shallow stage. Maybe I was thinking stage door. :-)

  6. A mi también me ha sugerido un porche, una bonita entrada elevada, aunque supongo que enseguida se te ocurrirá transformarlo y nos enseñaras algo realmente bonito!!
    Besos.

  8. I thought the same as Deborah did: backstage, there where the artists will enter the building.....music instruments, suitcases and that sort of things all around and on/under the porch....?? Well, whatever you'll come up with, we'll see ;).

  9. I can only agree - this is somehow odd. Too high for a porch with windows that don't match with any idea that would occur to me and in general not enough space for creativity (or in other words: for placing stuff). This is somehow a challenge - and I'm curious to see what you're going to do with it.

    Greetings

  10. Hi Sheila. I think this is a fun challenge. I guess you will enter? The dollar is so bad, the kit price + shipping really isn’t worth it for me. Unless I buy one in April in the US and bring it home with me. Maybe if I have an amazing idea I will. I take it you haven’t been struck with a great idea yet? In addition to being slightly odd, it is also quite large for something so simple. Happy 2020!

  11. I'm really debating if I want to enter at all. I haven't looked at it and loved it. Usually I at least like the kit even if I don't have a great idea of what to do with it.

  12. Yes a great thinking for this new project... I think it's a stage in a theater with trapdoor... LOL
Have fun with your new project curious to see what you going to make off it!

  14. Just discovered you and am excited to follow! I’ve struggled with my idea for this year with this little oddity, but I landed on something fun!
