Submission Pictures for NOLA House

It's always interesting to try and take pictures on a day that's going back and forth between cloudy and sunny, with dry leaves and a good wind.  I was lucky that it was one of our warmer days.

I took over one hundred fifty pictures and then had to narrow them down to four.  The process was excruciating.  But I think I've got it.

I took a whole bunch of detail shots, mostly with the kitties in various places.  Obviously I can't submit them but I had fun taking them.

This is what happens when you leave the balcony door open.

Marie likes to hang out on the balcony.  Sometimes she ends up squishing the flowers.  Alistair doesn't like the balcony as much but he loves to play with the Mardi Gras beads.

Remy likes the bathroom.  The laundry basket is his favorite place.  He also really wants to rub against that orchid.  But every time he gets up on the shelf something gets knocked down and he gets in trouble.

Everyone loves the living room, there's a place to sit for each one of them.  Alistair loves the couch and the soft throw, while Marie considers the white chair hers to shed upon.  Remy likes the wool rug and hanging out near his mommy's shoes.

Nobody has figured out how to get up on the tilt table to play with the flowers without knocking them down.

The shelves in the kitchen are very tempting, as is the box of cookies and the jar of cat treats on top of the fridge.  And every now and then someone tries to lie on top of the hat and its shelf.

Someday they'll figure out how to get the lid off that jar!

We close with one last picture of the front of the house.  And the numbers.

I'm off to submit my pictures!  Hope you all have a great week.  I'm hoping tomorrow I'll have more pictures of the Fairytale Cottage.

    1. Thank you. To me animals always look more realistic than dolls do. At least dolls that I can afford! And I tend to like animals more than people anyway.

Can't wait to see your entry. I'm just relieved to have my finished finally!

  5. Hi Sheila!
Well Done!!! I think that your NOLA house is chock-a-block FULL of delicious details and every one of them contains a story.
I am LOVING your bedroom balcony because it is the perfect place to sit in the cool of the evening and watch the neighbors, whilst sipping slowly on a mint julep and cuddling the cats.
Speaking of cats, I didn't realize that you had 3, but each one is a Beauty with lovely poses which add to the overall atmosphere as they freely wander both upstairs and down.
You have really made this HBS project Special and I wish you all the VERY BEST on your photo entries! ♥

    1. Wow! Thanks! I'm really excited about how well it came out. I so need a balcony of my own! The cats decided to do whatever they wanted, wandering in and out of the photo shoot. I had no control.
Thanks so much. I really appreciate it.

  6. Well done Sheila, it all looks wonderful. I love all of the kitties - especially the 8th picture down. It looks as if you have just wandered past the house with your camera and taken a snap. Good luck in the competition :0)

    1. Thank you! I did my best to take your advice about viewpoints. Some of the detail shots it can't be helped but for the most part I think it worked out well.

I've seen cats do that before, just sit on top of whatever is in the spot they want. I didn't think flowers would be exempt! Marie wants her view and she's determined to have it.

  7. sheila, I admire you to be able to narrow it down to 4 photos! there is so much detail and so much to see that focusing in on these is very important - otherwise one might overlook them. taking time for the selection is hard wok - but you did great! good luck with the competition.
