The Wicked Queen's Cloak Is Here!

Anna who is totally made of awesome, noted that sewing/fabric is not my favorite thing.  She offered to send me a cloak she'd made, to see if the Wicked Queen would like it.  I'm certain that Cecelia Alyce will absolutely love it.

It arrived today, along with a cute little present as a surprise.

Isn't it lovely?  It's a similar color to the bed curtains, a bit darker but it's a really pretty pop of color in the kitchen on the hook by the door.

I never realized how impatient a Queen can be, she tore into that present as if it was already Christmas.

What a sweet little pillow!

It fits in perfectly in the bedroom.

Thank you Anna!  I couldn't have made anything nearly as pretty!

Oh, and here are my rocks for a path from the gate to the front door.

We'll see how it works out, but this is my first idea.  Part of me wants to make some stone out of my egg cartons so I can paint them to match the walls of the cottage and garden walls.

Onward we go!

  1. Hi Sheila, I was so worried the parcel would not get there in time and that if it did the cloak would be too bulky for the spot on the peg behind the door. Looks as if I did not need to worry :-) So pleased it got there in time and that Cecelia Alyce approve.

  3. WOW, what a gorgeous gift from Anna, your WQ Cecelia Alyce must be over the moon with her new cloak and tiny pillow. I love the embroidered owl, it's so precious :)!
I'm curious to see what you'll come up with these stones. I love their color, maybe you can do something magical with the beautiful transparency/glare they have?? Something as making glowing eyes, who peek to the visitors of the WQ in order to see if they are good or bad.....? (I hope you understand what I mean, my English isn't that good ;)?)

    1. Thanks Ilona! Anna is such a sweetheart.

I honestly don't have much of a plan for the stones, I'm worried they're too thick to really work as a path. It would be very cool if I could find some that are translucent and put lights under them to make them glow.

  4. Both cloak and pillow are stunning gifts, perfect for the WQ. How generous of Ana.
I don't know about these beautiful stones, if you sink them into a soft surface they won't be too thick.

    1. Thanks Drora! Anna is made of awesome isn't she? The issue with sinking the stones is the base of the garden hits right up against the cottage base so I don't have a lot of depth. Hence the possibility of cardboard stones.

  5. That cloak is an absolute treasure! I can't get over how perfect those stitches are, but Anna's work has always amazed me! What an awesome gift! Truly special!
Good luck coming to a decision on the path - it's always so much easier when we know exactly what we want. Deciding on a direction is always the hardest part!

Yeah, the path will bother me until I figure it out. Hopefully it won't take long. Only...11 days left?

  7. Congratulations! Both are absolutely lovely. The stitching on the owl pillow is so intricate and precise, and that cloak has such perfect details--the trim, the lined hood, the little tie strings. Kudos to Anna! (I like the little wooden shoes, too.)
